The challenge

Qinghai School Restroom Upgrade

In many rural schools, restrooms are an overlooked system. Ventilation, lighting, privacy, water access and cleaning routines tend to fail together, and when no one owns maintenance, facilities degrade quickly, affecting student health, attendance and dignity.

Our approach

Make it work. Then make it last.

  • Scope clarity. Define the minimum viable upgrade: safety, hygiene and privacy first.
  • Local coordination. Align school leadership, community supporters and on-site installers before work begins.
  • Transparent procurement. Standardize materials and document every cost so the budget can be reviewed by the community.
  • Operations plan. Hand over a cleaning checklist, supply restocking schedule and a clear map of who is responsible.
